Distributed Antenna Systems

Ampli-Fi specializes in Distributed Antennas Systems or DAS design, engineering, installation and management.

DAS Solutions

DAS solutions are available by a variety of manufacturers and support carriers AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, among others. DAS solutions can be designed with traditional ½ inch coaxial cable, CAT 5e and CAT 6 cable, and Fiber infrastructure.

These systems have been around since the inception of 3G networks and previously the cellular carriers controlled and implemented these solutions.

Since the demand of 4G, 4G LTE and 5G has exponentially increased over the last decade, the carriers allow certified third party integrators like Ampli-Fi to implement DAS systems to support and connect into their infrastructure which enable in-building cellular signal for their consumers.

In the past, carriers paid for DAS systems for their customers. Today, carriers require the end user to pay for the deployment of carrier agnostic DAS systems. Whether your organization standardizes on a cellular carrier of choice or has a Bring Your Own Device policy, BYOD, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile in 99% of cases that we have experienced require the end user to provide the funding for DAS solutions for their employees and/or customers to use inside their buildings, whether leased or owned.

When deploying DAS systems, the end user is redistributing carrier owned frequencies. These private frequencies owned and operated by the carriers, have rules and regulations that must be adhered to obtain certification and carrier sign-off, in order to commission the system.

DAS systems can take up to 9 months for turn key deployment, mostly due to the carrier spectrum negotiations and design requirements for these systems. The carriers bring in their own fiber to the building and plug into the main head end infrastructure. Ampli-Fi has the certifications and carrier relationships to implement these solutions on behalf of any client in the United States which enable 4G, 4G LTE and 5G Millimeter Wave frequencies providing coverage for any environment.

What are the steps for a DAS system?

  1. Site Survey and Spectrum Analysis
  2. Design and Engineering
  3. Carrier Spectrum Negotiations
  4. Carrier Material Design Approval
  5. Hardware Fulfillment
  6. Installation and Integration
  7. Carrier Plug-In and Integration
  8. E911 Testing and Certification
  9. Project Closeout
